On the home court for the last time in 2021

The Cedevita Olimpija basketball players will step on the floor of the Arena Stožice for the last time this calendar year on Saturday at 7 pm. The Derby Student Center in Podgorica is coming to Ljubljana in the 12th round of the regional league, and the team of head coach Jurica Golemac will try to record its second consecutive regional victory.

After the celebration in Belgrade against Partizan NIS last weekend, Cedevita Olimpija suffered its fifth consecutive defeat in the 7DAYS EuroCup on Wednesday in Venice against Uman Reyer. The Dragons started the game very well, followed by a drop in the game in the second half of the first quarter, and the Venetians scored 19 points at the start of the second half. Nevertheless, the Ljubljana basketball players did not give up, they returned to the game for the victory, and in the end, after a few mistakes in the game in the attack, they let the victory out of their hands.

Already on Saturday, the current Slovenian national champions are offered the opportunity to return to winning ways, while they will be opposed by newcomers in the regional league, basketball players of the Derby Student Center, led by former assistant head coach of the Ljubljana club Andrej Žakelj.

After 11 rounds in the regional league, SC Derby has five wins and six losses, and in the last, 11th round, the Podgorica team defeated Igokea 93:90 on the home floor, thus breaking a series of three consecutive defeats. Kenan Kamenjaš showed an excellent performance, scoring 26 points and nine rebounds, while Justin Edwards added 20 assists and 20 assists. Kamenjaš is also the most efficient basketball player of SC Derby this season, averaging 12.7 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.

In the Montenegrin national championship, SC Derby is currently at the top of the table with six victories in seven matches, and the first and so far only defeat the team from Podgorica suffered in the last, seventh round. Primorje 1945 was better with 71:62, and the most efficient basketball player of the Student Center was Tomislav Ivišić, who added seven points and seven rebounds.
