Ogbeide: I can’t wait to be a part of the club, process and the family

With signing the contract with Cedevita Olimpija, we had the opportunity to talk a bit with the newest Dragon, Derek Ogbeide.

For the fans who don’t know you yet – who is Derek Ogbeide?

“Good hearted, chilled, laid back guy, that also has a very big side of intensity, so I combine the two, depending on how I feel. What fans can expect, is a high energy, high level of intensity, strong focus, the right mentality towards the game and towards others, and always looking to get better, and to improve and increase.”

How much do you know about Cedevita Olimpija and Ljubljana so far?

“I don’t know to much about Cedevita Olimpija. I know about the history of the club a little bit, and how it relates to the area and the region. I don’t know too much about Slovenia and Ljubljana. I know it’s a very nice, quiet place, a very nice area.”

As this will be your first season in the BKT EuroCup and AdmiralBet ABA League, what do you expect from both competitions?

“I expect a very high level of competitivenes in both competitions. For sure, this goes for the EuroCup, but I know, that ABA League is also very competitive. I just expect a very good level of basketball, which I’m excited for.”

Any special message for the fans?

“I really appreciate all the fans, for having me and accepting me. I can’t wait to be a part of the club, process and the family. I hope we can build something special. I’m excited to do everything I can to contribute to winning, and pack the club and the city as much as I can, and doing it the right way.”
