Maks Ciperle and Djibril Samba Gueye will gain valuable experience in senior basketball during the 2026/27 competitive season as loaned players from Cedevita Olimpija at Kansai Helios Domžale.
The Kansai Helios Domžale senior team will compete in the Slovenian national championship during the 2026/27 season. As part of the agreement between the two clubs, Maks Ciperle and Samba Gueye will also play for Cedevita Olimpija in the ABA U19 League and, if needed, will be available for the Cedevita Olimpija senior team. In the new season, Cedevita Olimpija will compete in the AdmiralBet ABA League, the BKT EuroCup, as well as competitions organized by the Basketball Federation of Slovenia.
Ciperle and Gueye will also travel with the Cedevita Olimpija team to the training camp in Kranjska Gora, where they will take part in the senior team’s preparations for the new competitive season.
“We are pleased with our cooperation with Kansai Helios Domžale, where they understand and respect our plans regarding the development of young players. This kind of cooperation is very important to us, as it gives young basketball players an important opportunity to compete at the senior level and thus makes the transition from youth categories to senior basketball easier. Žiga Daneu and Mark Morano Mahmutovič also developed their game in Domžale in the past, so we believe it is a suitable environment for the development of young players. Our goal is for Maks and Djibril to return to Cedevita Olimpija after their loan spells ready to play at a higher level and take the next step in their development,” said Cedevita Olimpija Director Davor Užbinec.
“Loans are an important part of the development of our young players, as they give them the opportunity to take on greater responsibility, play important minutes and gain the experience they need on their development path. At the same time, we want them to remain closely connected to our development system, and we will continue to monitor their progress throughout their loan spells. We believe that Maks and Djibril will take an important step forward in their new environment and return to our club as more experienced players,” said Cedevita Olimpija Sporting Director Chechu Mulero following the announcement of the young players’ loans.
We wish Maks Ciperle and Djibril Samba Gueye the best of luck, success and continued development in the upcoming competitive season!
