Cedevita Olimpija senior team has confirmed its place at the Spar Cup Final Four Tournament, as they have prevailed over Perspektiva Ilirija for the second time in two games, this time with the score of 115:81.
Cedevita Olimpija prevailed over Perspektiva Ilirija 115:81 on Monday night in Stožice Arena and earned its ticket to the Final Four Tournament of the Spar Cup. At the end of the first game of the Quarterfinal series, the score on the scoreboard in Tivoli Sports Hall was 84:78.
In the Semifinals of the Spar Cup, the reigning cup winners will be facing Kansai Helios of Domžale in Šenčur at 17.00. The second Semifinal pair is Krka – GGD Šenčur. The Dragons will be chasing their fifth consecutive and 25th cup trophy since the independence of Slovenia in Šenčur.
GAME REPORT:
The visiting side opened the second game all fired up and were ahead by 4 points after the opening quarter. The Dragons came up with a strong reply in the second quarter, which they won by 17 points alone and were ahead by 13 points at halftime (55:42), and 19 points ahead on aggregate. The remainder of the game has been merely a formality and the hosts celebrated the entry to the Final Four Tournament in Šenčur.
For Cedevita Olimpija, Žiga Daneu led the way in scoring with 21 points on his record, while Aleksej Nikolić added 15 points.
