Cedevita Olimpija celebrates its fifth consecutive, and overall 25th, cup title since Slovenia’s independence. In Friday’s Final of the SPAR Cup Final Tournament in Šenčur, the team led from the bench by head coach Zvezdan Mitrović defeated Krka of Novo mesto with a score of 99:78.

The Ljubljana club will thus add its 15th consecutive trophy in competitions organized under the Basketball Federation of Slovenia to its display cases. Since the merger of Zagreb’s Cedevita and Ljubljana’s Olimpija in 2019, Cedevita Olimpija has won more national cup titles than any other club in history of the Slovenian National Cup. In independent Slovenia, Krka ranks second with four titles. We witnessed the eternal derby in the final battle for the cup title for the third consecutive season.

The Ljubljana side now has a few days of well-deserved rest ahead. The Dragons will continue the season on Sunday, March 8, when Dubai Basketball visits Stožice, followed by a battle for a EuroCup Quarterfinal spot on Wednesday, March 11, against the German team NINERS Chemnitz. Tickets for both games are already available, and you can watch both games at an even lower price by purchasing a package at vstopnice.olimpija.com.
