Cedevita Olimpija squad hs beaten the reigning regional league champions Crvena zvezda mts after overtime (88:80) and forced Game 3, that will determine the passenger for the Finals. The third game is coming up on Friday in Belgrade.
The fans of Ljubljana are celebrating the first win of the Cedevita Olimpija in the Playoffs of the regional competition after 2010/11 season. The players of the Slovenian capital have beaten the reigning champions Crvena zvezda mts 88:80 and forced game 3 of the overtime, that will determine the passenger for the Finals.
The Dragons have been celebrating the first win over the red and white after 1 December 2019. It has been even more sweet due to the fact that the green and orange fans have won the game in front of 9.435 fans, that have filled the Stožice Arena once more, to guide their team towards the great success. The attendance at the Monday’s game has been at the same time the highest in this regional league season.
Cedevita Olimpija were up by no more than a point with 75 seconds remaining, but then Zach Auguste scored at the entrance to the final minute, to put his Cedevita Olimpija up 74:71. Crvena zvezda mts had the final ball possession with 3 points of deficit and it has been Luka Mitrović, who scored while drawing the foul, to force overtime with the score of 76:76. In the extra time, however, the hosts dominated the court and prevailed with the final score of 88:80.
Edo Murić was the top scorer of the Ljubljana squad with 21 points on his record, while adding 7 rebounds to his stats. Captain Jaka Blažič added 12 points and 5 rebounds. With the double-digit number of points Yogi Ferrell (11), Zoran Dragić (11) and Alen Omić (10).
