In the opening game of the Nova KBM League season for the Dragons, the squad led by Jurica Golemac has prevailed over Nutrispoint Ilirija on the road in Tivoli Sports Hall.
In the opening half of the city clash, it has been Nutrispoint Ilirija, that has pulled away, winning the opening quarter by 6 points and extending their advantage further to nine points by the 15th minute. However, the visiting side fought back and turned the game completely upside-down by the big break, when it has been ahead by 2 points (41:43).
In the remainder of the game, the green and orange squad has demonstrated its superiority in terms of quality and kept increasing their advantage until the end, when they prevailed with the final score of 82:70
Jacob Pullen was the top scorer of Cedevita Olimpija with 18 points on his record. Zach Auguste added 15 points.
Cedevita Olimpija faced Nutrispoint Ilirija without national team players Jaka Blažič, Zoran Dragić and Edo Murić. The next test is coming up for the Dragons on Saturday, when they will be facing Mornar-Barsko zlato in the 21st round of the regional competition on the road in Bar.
