In the second Semifinal game of the national championship, Cedevita Olimpija celebrated the second win over Terme Olimia Podčetrtek. In Stožice on Tuesday night, the scoreboard has been showing the score of 98:82 in favour of the Dragons. This way, the capital city squad has eliminated their opponents from the battle for the top spots and secured themselves a spot in the Finals of the national championship.
The senior team of Cedevita Olimpija is celebrating a spot in the national championship Finals. On Tuesday, the squad of Ljubljana has prevailed over Terme Olimia Podčetrtek for the second time, this time with the score of 98:82 and earned a spot in the Finals in the fastest possible way.
Not taking the 2019/20 season into account, when the Playoffs haven’t taken place, the Ljubljana squad will participate in the Finals for the eighth season in a row and the Dragons will be chasing their fifth consecutive domestic championship trophy. For the title, the Cedevita Olimpija squad will face the winning side of the second Semi-final pair between Krka and Ilirija.
GAME REPORT:
Just like in the Game 1 in Podčetrtek, the Dragons have powerfully opened the game and after 10 minutes of the clash they have led already by 8 points (23:15). As it turned out later in the game, this has been just the opening of the convincing performance by the hosts, that prevailed in the end with the final score of 98:82 despite a hot finish of the third quarter.
For Cedevita Olimpija, Gregor Glas led the way in scoring with 21 points on his record, while Joan Beringer added 14 points.
