Tenth win of the season in the regional competition

Cedevita Olimpija squad have ended the winless run in the regional competition. In the 19th round the squad, led by head coach Jurica Golemac from the bench, has beaten Igokea m:tel 80:70 in Stožice Arena.

Cedevita Olimpija has successfully ended the first week of February. In the 19th round of the regional league season, the Dragons have beaten Igokea m:tel in Stožice Arena on Sunday and won their second game in five days. This is the tenth win of the season in the regional competition.

Cedevita Olimpija have dominated the court in their home Stožice Arena to roll over Igokea m:tel. It was a monster performance by Cedevita Olimpija and it came right when it mattered the most – against one of the greatest rivals for a Playoffs position, Igokea m:tel and now the Dragons have moved up to fourth place in the standings with a record of 10:7.

Ever since the fantastic start to the game by the hosts, there has been no dilemma on the final outcome of the game. Cedevita Olimpija started the game with a 13:2 run, grabbed a double-digit lead already by the fourth minute, and as it turned out later in the game, the visiting side did not manage to fight their way back into the battle for the win anymore until the end of the clash.

Four players, wearing the green and orange jersey, have crossed the margin of ten points. Captain Jaka Blažič has been the most successful with 13 points, Yogi Ferrell achieved just one less. Edo Murić scored 11 points and Melvin Ejim 10.

On Tuesday, the Dragons will be back on the road. On Wednesday, 19.30 the new 7DAYS EuroCup game awaits them, against ratiopharm Ulm. The Ljubljana team will not be back to Slovenian capitl until the end of the week, since they will be heading to Split, where they will face the home side in the 20th round of the regional competition.
