This way, the Ljubljana side has made another important step towards securing a ticket to the Playoffs of the second-tier European club competition.
Cedevita Olimpija senior squad has made a new crucial step towards a spot in the Top 12 teams of the BKT EuroCup. The Dragons of Ljubljana have prevailed over 7BET-Lietkabelis of Panevežys and grabbed their 10th win of the season in the European competition, with which they have strengthened their position at the second place in the Regular Season Group B. With three games left in the regular season, the squad, led from the bench by Zvezdan Mitrović, are one win ahead of Hapoel and Turk Telekom and they still have to face JL Bourg and Hamburg on the road, while Valencia is coming to Stožice.
This is the fifth win in a row for the team of the Slovenian capita and 14th in the last 16 games.
Already on Friday, the Dragons will head on the road to Dubai, where the green and orange team will face Dubai Basketball on Sunday, 15.30 C.E.T.
GAME REPORT:
In Panevežys, Cedevita Olimpija has been in front throughout the majority of the playing time and thus we can argue that their win is fully deserved. This way, the Dragons have earned themselves an important win in the battle not only for the Playoffs, but also for the second place in Group B of the BKT EuroCup Regular Season. After first quarter, the Lithuanian squad has been ahead by 2 points (18:16), but with an excellent second quarter, the Dragons have turned the game completely upside-down and departed to the big break with the five-point advantage (45:40). They have increased their lead to 8 by the end of the third quarter and afterwards cruised to the win in the end.
For Cedevita Olimpija, Brynton Lemar led the way in scoring with 19 points on his record, while DJ Stewart added 15 points.
