On Tuesday in Thessaloniki, in a matchup of Round 12 of the regular season of the BKT EuroCup, the basketball players of Cedevita Olimpija defeated Aris with a score of 89:60 and recorded their eighth victory in the European Cup this season.

Cedevita Olimpija concluded the calendar year 2025 in the best possible way — with a win in the Round 12 regular-season BKT EuroCup game against Aris. On Tuesday, the scoreboard in Thessaloniki showed 89:60 in favor of the team coached by head coach Zvezdan Mitrović, who finish the year just below the top of Group A standings with eight EuroCup wins. With the victory over Aris, the Slovenian champions also snapped a streak of two consecutive defeats in European competition. Six games remain for the Dragons until the end of the regular season, four of them away from home.

The Dragons’ next EuroCup challenge awaits next Tuesday at 7:00 PM, when Turkish side Bahçeşehir visit Stožice. Before that, they face a demanding home matchup on Saturday at 5:00 PM, in Round 13 of the first phase of the AdmiralBet ABA League against Spartak Office Shoes. Tickets for both games are already available at vstopnice.olimpija.com.

GAME REPORT:

In the arena named after the legendary Nick Galis, the Dragons quickly took control of the court and held the lead throughout the game. After the first quarter they were up by four points (19:15), and by halftime the lead had already grown to thirteen (44:31). After returning to the floor in the second half, head coach Zvezdan Mitrović’s players stepped on the gas even more, and after six minutes of play in the second half, a three-pointer by Joseph Girard III doubled the halftime lead to 26 points (59:33). At that point it became clear that the spectators in Thessaloniki would see a repeat of the matchup from Ljubljana and that the victory would head to the Slovenian capital.

For the Dragons, with 23 points scored, the title of top scorer was claimed by Aleksej Nikolić. Umoja Gibson added 14 points, while DJ Stewart and David Škara chipped in 11 points apiece.
