Cedevita Olimpija’s basketball players defeated Zadar on Sunday in the third round of the AdmiralBet ABA League in Stožice with a score of 97:72 and recorded their fourth consecutive home victory of the 2025/26 season.
The senior squad of Cedevita Olimpija continues its successful streak on home court — in the 2025/26 season, the Ljubljana team has already defeated Manresa and Aris in the EuroCup and Mega in the ABA League, and on Sunday they added another win against Zadar, whom they overcame in the third round of the regular regional league season with a score of 97:72.
The Dragons, led by Đorđe Adžić from the bench due to head coach Zvezdan Mitrović’s suspension by the league’s disciplinary judge, now hold a record of two wins and one loss in the regional competition.
The start of the new week brings a new mini road trip. On Tuesday, the Dragons will travel to Istanbul, where on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Slovenian time they will face Bahçeşehir in the fourth round of the BKT EuroCup. The game will feature two unbeaten teams in Group A, and Bahçeşehir was also Cedevita Olimpija’s opponent in last season’s quarterfinals, where the Turkish side eliminated the Ljubljana team from the playoffs.
After that, the team will head directly to Sarajevo, where on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. they will face Bosna BH Telecom in the fourth round of the regional league.
The Dragons return to their home court on Wednesday, October 29, when Neptūnas Klaipėda visits Stožice at 7:30 p.m.
GAME REPORT:
After a tied first quarter (19:19), Cedevita Olimpija entered the second quarter with a 14:3 run in the opening three minutes, that gave them an 11-point lead (33:22). As it turned out later in the game, Zadar did not manage to fight back again afterwards and enter an exciting battle for the win and these were therefore key moments of the game.
For Cedevita Olimpija, Umoja Gibson led the way in scoring with 16 points on his record, while Joseph Girard III added 15 points.
