Dragons beat the Students after comeback in Stožice

The Dragons of Ljubljana have prevailed over SC Derby in Round 24 of the AdmiralBet ABA League in Stožice with the final score of 84:83. The Dragons have secured themselves a home-court advantage in the Quarterfinals of the Playoffs before the game.

In the last game of the AdmiralBet ABA League Round 24, Cedevita Olimpija have demonstrated a major comeback to prevail over SC Derby at home in Stožice Arena in Ljubljana. This is the win, that puts Cedevita Olimpija on a 16:7 record, which keeps them in a race for the third place in the Regular Season in which, they already have secured themselves at least the 4th place in the standings and home-court advantage in the Quarter-finals of the Playoffs.

Even though SC Derby have been in front by 10 points at halftime (34:44), the Dragons fought back in the third quarter, even took the lead and ever since it has remained a close game in Stožice. As the two squads have entered the final 60 seconds, they have been separated by only a point (75:76). It has been Alen Omić, who scored twice from the free throw line with 41 seconds to go, to put his team ahead 77:76 and Zoran Dragić afterwards made a lay-up for the score of 79:76.Josh Adams added 2 free throws for the lead of 81:76 and 22 seconds remained until the end. SC Derby did manage to score two 3-pointers until the end and take the game into a thrilling finish. They even had a chance to win the game in the final seconds, but Fletcher Magee missed what he hoped would become a buzzer-beating game-winning three-pointer.

For Cedevita Olimpija, Josh Adams led the way in scoring with 21 points on his record. Alen Omić and Edo Murić scored 15, while Yogi Ferrell and Zoran Dragić had 11 apiece.

The next game is coming up for the Dragons next Tuesday, when they will be facing Mornar-Barsko zlato on the road in Topolica Sports Hall in Bar in the 25th round of the AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season.
