Cedevita Olimpija squad has concluded the week, that it spent on the road in Skopje, Kaunas and Belgrade, victoriously, with an important win against FMP Soccerbet (86:79).
In the incredibly important 19th round game of the AdmiralBet ABA League against rivals for the highest places in the standings, Cedevita Olimpija has written down a win, with which the Dragons have ended the 3-games-long winless streak in the regional competition. The squad, led from the bench by head coach Jurica Golemac prevailed over FMP Soccerbet in Železnik with the final score of 86:79. This is the 13th win for the reigning Slovenian champions in the Regular Season.
It’s been a game, where the Dragons have been in front almost throughout the playing time. They were up by 3 points after the first quarter and by 10 at halftime. The last time, that FMP Soccerbet were close was in the 22nd minute, when the score was 41:47. That’s when Cedevita Olimpija started to completely dominate the court in FMP Arena and by the end of the third quarter they went up by 14 points (53:67). In the final quarter, their lead already passed the 20-point margin and in the end, they comfortably prevailed over the home side, even though the latter managed to cut the deficit in the game’s finish.
For the Dragons, Yogi Ferrell led the way in scoring with 17 points, and he has been followed by Karlo Matković (16), Edo Murić (14) and Zoran Dragić (13).
On Monday, Cedevita Olimpija will face ECE Triglav in the second game of the Quarter-finals of the Slovenian Spar Cup. The Dragons have won the first game with a margin of 35 points.
