Dragons leave Skopje heads down

Cedevita Olimpija suffered a defeat in the 18th round of the AdmiralBet ABA League season on the road in Jane Sandanski Arena in Skopje against MZT Skopje Aerodrom.

Despite the return of Zoran Dragić to the court, Cedevita Olimpija suffered third consecutive defeat in the AdmiralBet ABA League, as they have been defeated by MZT Skopje Aerodrom on the road in Jane Sandanski Arena in Skopje. The final score was 79:74 in favour of the hosts.

The Dragons are now at a record of 12:5 in the regional competition, and their chances of taking one of the positions in the very top of the standings at the end of the Regular Season, are slowly fading away.

It has been a close game, where MZT Skopje Aerodrom have been in front almost throughout the playing time, but nevertheless, the game got into a thrilling ending. With 2 minutes to go in the game, MZT Skopje Aerodrom have still been only 1 point up and it has been anybody’s game. However, that’s when the hosts stepped up and created themselves a 7:0 run over the next minute, which put them up 74:66. Only minute remained in the game and that’s when it became clear that a pair of points would remain in Skopje.

For Cedevita Olimpija, Josh Adams led the way in scoring this time with 15 points, while Edo Murić and Karlo Matković scored 12 points each.

The next game is coming up for the Ljubljana side on Wednesday, when they will face Prometey on the road in the 7DAYS EuroCup.
