Cedevita Olimpija squad has suffered a defeat in the derby of the round 14 in the AdmiralBet ABA League against Partizan Mozzart Bet, with the final score of 78:76.
Cedevita Olimpija ended the year 2024 with a defet against one of the best teams of the region. The Dragons of Ljubljana have ended their streak of five straight wins in the regional competion, as the score on the scoreboard in Belgrade Arena at the end of the game was 78:76 in favour of the hosts. For the Ljubljana squad, this is the first defeat after 9 November, when they were defeated in Zadar.
The Dragons will spend the 31st of December on their way to Lithuania, where they will be facing Lietkabelis at 18:00 in the BKT EuroCup. There, they will try to improve their impression from the last game in the regional competition and score an important win in the battle for a spot in the BKT EuroCup Playoffs. They will be back on home court on Sunday, 17:00, when Cedevita Olimpija hosts Krka in Stožice Arena in the Round 15 of the AdmiralBet ABA League.
GAME REPORT:
Cedevita Olimpija has been a better of the two opponents for the majority of the clash in Belgrade Arena. The Dragons led by 7 points after the opening quarter (21:14), by 5 at halftime (39:34) and by 11 after 3 quarters (63:52). However, the hosts have fought their way back in the game in the final quarter, in which Cedevita Olimpija even pulled away by 14 points at some point, and tied the game at 69:69. The fans were in for a close contest in the very finish of the game, where eventually Partizan Mozzart Bet prevailed.
For Cedevita Olimpija, Brynton Lemar led the way in scoring with 24 points on his record, while Aleksej Nikolić added 14 points.
