On Wednesday, Cedevita Olimpija has written down its fifth straight win in the 7DAYS EuroCup. In the 15th round game of the Regular Season, the squad of Ljubljana has beaten one of the favourites for the championship trophy – the mighty Virtus.
Cedevita Olimpija continues with excellent performances in the international competitions. The squad, led from the bench by head coach Jurica Golemac has beaten Virtus Segafredo of Bologna in the 15th round of the EuroCup season with the score of 86:74 and grabbed fifth straight win in the 7DAYS EuroCup.
The last defeat on the international stage came for the Dragons in the end of January against Budućnost VOLI. The Dragons have beaten Virtus for the first time after the 2007/08 season and the Ljubljana squad has tied its longest run of wins in the 7DAYS EuroCup, dating back into 2013/14 season, when Union Olimpija has also won in five games in a row.
Cedevita Olimpija have come up with a road win in Bologna against Virtus Segafredo, in a game, where they have been in command of the court throughout the 40 minutes of play. Cedevita Olimpija opened the clash with a high-scoring performance in the opening quarter with the score of 31:24 and then controlled the happening on court until the very end of the contest, when they have celebrated a 86:74 win.
For the Dragons, Jacob Pullen led the way in scoring with 20 points, as Jaka Blažič followed him with 18.
The next test is coming up for Cedevita Olimpija on Saturday, 17.00, when the Ljubljana squad will face Zadar in the 23rd round of the regional league in Dalmatia.
