Cedevita Olimpija squad is coming back to Ljubljana from Badalona with heads down. The players, led by the head coach Jurica Golemac, have suffered a defeat by Joventut on the road in Badalona in the 12th round of the 7DAYS EuroCup with the final score of 96:91. This is the tenth defeat of the European season for the Dragons, that remain at the bottom of the Regular Season Group A and there are six games remaining until the end of the Regular Season. Next week, Umana Reyer of Venice are coming to Stožice.
The Dragons have gone off to the flying start with a 7:0 run right at the opening of the game and remained in front all until the end of the first quarter, when they were up 21:19. Joventut took control of the game in the second period, when they got in front and led by 4 points (48:44) at halftime, after Marko Jeremić hit the buzzer-beating triple in the second quarter. The game remained close all until a minute and a half before the end, when Joventut pulled away by 7 points, which turned out to be crucial in this game of ups and downs.
For Cedevita Olimpija, Yogi Ferrell led the way in scoring with 25 points on his record, while Josh Adams added 15.
The next game is coming up for the Ljubljana side on Sunday, when it will face Budućnost VOLI in the spectacle at home in Stožice Arena in the Match of the 17th round of the AdmiralBet ABA League season. At the game, a jersey by the legendary Smelt Olimpija captain Dušan Hauptman will be retired. The game begins at 17.00.
