The young and talented French basketball player Joan Beringer, who moved to Ljubljana this summer from Strasbourg, has signed his first professional contract with Basketball Club Cedevita Olimpija until 2028.
Joan Beringer, who only started taking basketball seriously relatively late, less than three years ago, signed his first professional contract with Cedevita Olimpija. After spending two seasons with the youth team of SIG Strasbourg, the 18-year-old Frenchman relocated to Ljubljana this summer.
Initially, it was planned for him to play for the youth team, but from day one, he drew attention to himself and proved during training and games that the Ljubljana club could seriously count on him. Before the start of the season, he became a permanent member of Cedevita Olimpija’s senior team, making his debut in the EuroCup and the regional AdmiralBet ABA League.
“I am very happy to sign my first professional contract. For the rest of the season, I want to play with even more intensity, win games, and showcase the best game possible. I want to enjoy every match and practice with my teammates and do everything to secure victories,” said Joan Beringer after signing his contract with Cedevita Olimpija.
This season, Beringer has played in seven EuroCup games, starting in the first five in three of them, and in nine games in the regional league. On average, he spends more than 16 minutes on the court in the EuroCup, where he records 4.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 0.7 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game. In the regional league, he averages 14.3 minutes on the court, scoring 4.0 points and grabbing 3.0 rebounds per game.
This summer, he also played for France in the European Championship for boys under 18, averaging 9.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
