In Stožice against Nanterre 92

The basketball players of Cedevita Olimpija will face Nanterre 92 in the sixth round of the 7DAYS EuroCup on Wednesday at 6.30 pm in Arena Stožice. The match will be broadcast live on Šport TV 1.

In front of the Cedevita Olimpija basketball players, after a 14-day break on the European scene, is the first test of the second half of the Group Stage of the 7DAYS EuroCup. In the sixth round, the Ljubljana basketball players will face Nanterre 92 in Paris on the home floor of Arena Stožice.

In the 2020/21 season, Cedevita Olimpija in the 7DAYS EuroCup have stepped on the floor ‘only’ in three matches so far, despite the fact that the Dragons are already in the sixth round of the group stage of the competition. The season is relentlessly shaped by the global pandemic COVID-19, and even the French Nanterre 92 failed to escape the effects of the latter.

“Nanterre 92 is coming to us, but we don’t know in what lineup. We all know what times we are in, everything changes from day to day. We are preparing for the Wednesday’s match as if the Parisians are coming in full force. We must not relax, because the Paris team is of sufficient quality to beat us on the home floor if we do not enter the match focused enough. We need to correct some mistakes in our game, we also need to correct our rebounding and physical contact. We worked on that in training. Unfortunately, there were no matches, so we can’t wait to prove ourselves on the court.”

Edo Murić, player of Cedevita Olimpija:
“It’s certainly a very unfavorable team that plays physical basketball, and Nanterre’s game depends heavily on counterattacks and fast play. We will have to control the course of the match, as it does not suit them. We will prepare well, just like for every match, but I hope that we will step on the floor in perfect shape and record a victory, which is very important for us. Home games need to be won. We are aware of the importance of the game, and we will do our best to leave the floor with our heads held high.”
