In Spar Cup’s Quarterfinals against Podčetrtek

The draw for the quarterfinals of the Spar Cup was held on Tuesday at the Basketball Association of Slovenia. Cedevita Olimpija will face Terme Olimie Podčetrtek for a ticket to the final tournament.

The basketball players of Cedevita Olimpija will face Terme Olimie Podčetrtek in the quarterfinals, which will take place on Tuesday, May 11, to enter the final tournament of the Spar Cup. If the Dragons manage to get to the final tournament of the foursome, they will face the winner of the quarterfinal pair between Krka and Gorenjska gradbena družba Šenčur in the semifinals.

At the end of the jubilee 20th edition of the Spar Cup, eight first-placed teams will take part after the second part of the Liga Nova KBM competition, and the teams will qualify directly for the quarterfinals of the cup competition. In the quarterfinals, which will take place next Tuesday, May 11, the teams will play one match, and the home team will have the advantage of the higher ranked team after the second part of the Nova KBM League.

The winners of the quarter-final matches advance to the semi-finals. The final tournament of the quartet will take place next weekend, on Saturday, May 22, and Sunday, May 23.

Cedevita Olimpija has 20 Slovenian cup champion titles in its showcases, and won the last one in 2017. In the 2019/20 season, the Dragons advanced to the finals of the cup, which took place in Kodeljevo, and in the final match, the Ljubljana Primorska basketball team defeated Ljubljana.

The playoffs of the national championship will start in Slovenia on Tuesday. Cedevita Olimpija will face Hopsi Polzela in the first match of the quarterfinal set in Stožice at 19.30.
