For the title of national champion with Krka

In the final set of the Nova KBM League, which will begin on Wednesday, May 26, the basketball players of Cedevita Olimpija will face Krka from Novo mesto for the title of national champion.

The Cedevita Olimpija basketball players will start the final part of the #NazajNaVrh route on Wednesday, May 26. In the final set of the national championship, the selected players of head coach Jurica Golemac will face Krka from Novo mesto. The first final match will start in Stožice at 20.30.

The people of Ljubljana and Novo mesto competed five times in the 2020/21 competition season, and the victory was always celebrated by the team from Stožice. In the finals of the national championship, Cedevita Olimpija and Krka last competed in the 2017/18 season, and in the end, the Ljubljana basketball players were looking forward to the title of national champion after five matches.

The Dragons made it to the finals without a scratch. In the quarterfinals, after two matches, Hopse Polzelo was eliminated from the fight for the national laurels, and then in the semifinals the exercise was repeated with the Helios Suns from Domžale. On the other hand, Krka needed three quarter-final matches with Šenčur to break through to the semi-finals, while in the semi-finals the Novo mesto team also suffered a lot from Rogaška.

Cedevita Olimpija and Krka competed nine times in the finals of the national championship in independent Slovenia. The title went to Novo mesto six times and to Ljubljana three times. The Dragons have 17 national championship titles in their showcases, while the Novo mesto team has seven. In the finals of the Nova KBM League, we will be able to follow the reckoning of the most trophy-winning Slovenian basketball teams.

Even before the start of the final series of the Nova KBM League, Cedevita Olimpija and Krka will compete in the semifinals of the final tournament of the Spar Cup. The latter will take place in the Kodeljevo Sports Hall, and the semi-final match between the basketball players from Ljubljana and Novo mesto will start on Saturday at 20.30.
