Dragons to Open AdmiralBet ABA League Season with the Eternal Slovenian Derby

In the 2026/27 season, Cedevita Olimpija will compete in Group A of the first phase of the AdmiralBet ABA League, where 18 games await. The new regional season will tip off on Saturday, 26 September, at Tivoli Hall, with the eternal Slovenian basketball derby against Krka.

The new 2026/27 competitive season is ahead of us, with Cedevita Olimpija set to compete in the BKT EuroCup, the AdmiralBet ABA League and competitions organized under the auspices of the Basketball Federation of Slovenia. Following the release of the EuroCup schedule in July, the schedule for the first phase of the regional competition was also announced on Thursday. The Dragons will compete in Group A alongside Crvena zvezda Meridianbet, Budućnost VOLI, Cibona, Igokea m:tel, FMP, Borac Mozzart, Krka, Široki TT Kabeli and Slovan Bratislava.

Cedevita Olimpija will open the first phase of the season on Saturday, 26 September, at Tivoli Hall, hosting Krka from Novo Mesto in the opening round. The eternal Slovenian basketball derby will be particularly intriguing for both teams, as the two sides will face each other less than ten days earlier – on Thursday, 17 September, in Nova Gorica in the 2026 Slovenian Super Cup. The Dragons will also play their second game of the AdmiralBet ABA League season at home. On Saturday, 3 October, Cibona, who are returning to the AdmiralBet ABA League in the 2026/27 season, will visit Tivoli Hall.

Two challenging away games will follow. First, on Saturday, 10 October, Cedevita Olimpija will travel to Široki Brijeg, where they will face Široki TT Kabeli, the reigning NLB ABA League 2 champions. A week later, on Saturday, 17 October, the Dragons will travel to Laktaši to take on Igokea m:tel. Following two consecutive away games, Cedevita Olimpija will play back-to-back home games in front of their supporters. On Saturday, 24 October, Budućnost VOLI will visit Ljubljana, followed by FMP one week later, on 31 October.

The remainder of the first phase will bring two challenging trips to Serbia. On Saturday, 7 November, the Dragons will visit Borac Mozzart in Čačak, while on Sunday, 15 November, they will face Crvena zvezda Meridianbet in Belgrade. Cedevita Olimpija will conclude the November portion of the schedule at home, ahead of the international break. On Sunday, 22 November, Slovan Bratislava will visit Ljubljana.

The second part of the schedule will begin on Sunday, 6 December, when Cedevita Olimpija will host Crvena zvezda Meridianbet in Ljubljana. Another trip to Belgrade will follow, with the Dragons facing FMP on Saturday, 12 December.

The end of the calendar year and the beginning of the new one will also bring exciting fixtures. On Sunday, 20 December, Cedevita Olimpija will travel to Novo Mesto to face Krka, followed by two consecutive home games. On Sunday, 27 December, Široki TT Kabeli will visit Ljubljana, while the Dragons will open the new calendar year on Sunday, 3 January 2027, with a home game against Igokea m:tel.

In January, Cedevita Olimpija will face three more away games. On Saturday, 9 January, the Dragons will travel to Podgorica to face Budućnost VOLI. On Sunday, 17 January, they will visit Slovan in Bratislava, while on Saturday, 23 January, they will face Cibona in Zagreb. Cedevita Olimpija will conclude the first phase of the AdmiralBet ABA League on Friday, 29 January, when Borac Mozzart will visit the Slovenian capital.
