Danilo Tasić joins Dragons Family!

In the conclusion of the 2024/25 competitive season, Cedevita Olimpija will enter strengthened in the high-playing positions. The 207 cm tall Danilo Tasić has signed a contract with the Ljubljana club until the end of the season, after starting the season with FMP Soccerbet from Železnik.

Following the loan of Martinas Geben to Girona, Cedevita Olimpija has brought in the experienced 207 cm tall Danilo Tasić, who signed a contract with the Ljubljana club until the end of the 2024/25 season. Tasić began the season with FMP Soccerbet from Železnik, and in this season’s regional league, he is averaging 13.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 26.7 minutes per game.

Tasić will not play in Sunday’s game against Krka but could make his debut for the Dragons in Wednesday’s game against Aris, scheduled for 6:45 PM at Arena Stožice.

“After the loan of Martinas Geben, we were looking for a free agent on the market who could immediately step in to help us. We found a solution in Danilo Tasić, who is well-acquainted with playing in the ABA League. We expect him to integrate well into our team and help us achieve our set goals with his performances,” said Cedevita Olimpija’s sports director, Chechu Mulero, upon signing the contract with Tasić.

“Danilo Tasić is a player who can cover the ‘four’ and ‘five’ positions. He has extensive experience in the regional league, though not much in European competitions. However, after the loan of Martinas Geben, he can help us in two different positions, which is very important. In the upcoming period, we will have greater player rotation, and Tasić will assist us with his experience,” said Zvezdan Mitrović, the head coach of Cedevita Olimpija’s senior team, at the contract signing.

Danilo Tasić began his professional career in Niš, later moving to Bucharest. He has also played for AEK, Stal, Voluntari, Pitesti, Levski Sofia, SC Derby, Borac Mozzart, and FMP. Over his career, he has won Bulgarian and Cypriot national championships and was named the MVP of the Bulgarian national championship and final series in 2021.

Since 2021, he has been part of the ABA League, playing for FMP, SC Derby, and Borac. In the 2024/25 season, he has played in 12 regional league games, scoring double figures in seven of them. With an efficiency rating of 15.5, Tasić is currently the 15th most efficient player in the competition. With FMP, Tasić also competed in the Basketball Champions League this season, playing in six games with an average of 28.6 minutes, 13.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game.
