Dalibor Damjanović and Miljan Goljović will be part of coaching staff

Before the start of preparations for the new 2024/25 competitive season, Zvezdan Mitrović, the head coach of the Cedevita Olimpija senior team, has filled positions in his coaching staff.

Serbian expert Đorđe Adžić, who joined the Ljubljana team in June, will be Mitrović’s first assistant. Two positions in the staff will be filled by Dalibor Damjanović, who will be the second assistant, and Miljan Goljović. The latter will also be responsible for the development of players in the senior team and the younger age group teams. Grega Nachbar remains part of the coaching staff, while Andrea Turchetto is departing.

Dalibor Damjanović’s coaching career began in 2002 in Kranj, where he was initially an assistant and then the head coach of Triglav. He also worked in Polish Anwil and was the head coach in Škofja Loka between 2008 and 2010, returning to Triglav, and between 2011 and 2014, he was an assistant head coach at Helios. In the 2015/16 season, he was the head coach of ŽKD Ilirija, and in 2016 he moved to Novo Mesto’s Krka, where he was first an assistant and then the head coach of the senior team. In December 2023, he took over as the head coach of the Hungarian team Kaposvári. Damjanović was also the head coach of the Slovenian men’s U20 national team for several years, with which he won a silver medal at the 2017 European Championship Division B in Bulgaria. He was also part of the coaching staff of the Slovenian men’s senior national team, working at the Tokyo Olympics, the 2022 European Championship, and the 2023 World Championship.

Miljan Goljović left a mark in Slovenian and European basketball during his playing career, wearing the jerseys of many renowned clubs, including Serbian Partizan and Turkish Ülker, with which he also played in the EuroLeague. In the 2001/02 and 2002/03 seasons, he played a total of 39 EuroLeague games, averaging 9.2 points per game. Before moving to Turkey, Goljović wore the jersey of Pivovarna Laško between 1997 and 2000, and in the 1999/00 season, he was the top scorer of FIBA EuroLeague with an average of 20.2 points per game. During his career, he was named the MVP of the Slovenian national championship in 2000, won the Turkish and Austrian national championships, and participated in the Slovenian All-Star game four times. In the Slovenian men’s senior national team jersey, Goljović played in five official games, scoring a total of 46 points. After his playing career ended, he tried his hand as a coach for individual training and was briefly the director of Zlatorog Laško and sports director of Maribor’s AKK Branik.
