Completion of the One Team project in the 2020/21 season

Cedevita Olimpija is a proud part of the One Team project for the second season in a row. One Team is a socially responsible project of the strongest European basketball competition, the Euroleague, and is also supported by the main sponsor of the elite basketball competition, Turkish Airlines, and the main partner of the project, the non-profit organization Special Olympics.

The purpose of the project is to harness the power of basketball to connect and implement change in the community and project participants through basketball and basic basketball elements and exercises to highlight vital skills needed for the most effective integration into everyday life.

At the beginning of the 2020/2021 season, Cedevita Olimpija established cooperation with the Malči Beličeve Youth Home. Due to COVID-19, which also shaped the One Team season, project participants were unable to meet live in workshops as usual, but met twice a month via an online platform.

The workshops, together with teachers and coaches, covered topics such as empathy, respect for rules, cooperation and teamwork, communication, decision-making and a healthy lifestyle. In this way, they became acquainted with skills that are important for everyday life, and these skills will thus help them to integrate into daily activities.

The One Team project ended in early May after ten workshops. Led by the project ambassador Alen Hodžić, we all want the project to come to life again in its usual form in the new season, and for the project participants to be able to learn and supplement their skills live in the future.
