The basketball team of Cedevita Olimpija has learned their opponent in the quarterfinals of the AdmiralBet ABA League playoffs. Following Igokea m:tel’s victory over Mornar-Barsko zlato in Bar on Saturday, it became clear that a win against Krka in Novo Mesto would not affect Ljubljana’s position in the standings. In the quarterfinals, the team led by coach Zvezdan Mitrović will face Dubai, which will conclude the regular season in third place.

Regardless of the outcome of their final regular-season game against Krka, the Dragons will finish the season in sixth place. Even with a potential victory over Krka, Cedevita Olimpija would have the same number of wins as Igokea, but due to a better record in their head-to-head matchups this season, the team from Laktaši will be ranked higher.

In the playoff quarterfinals, Ljubljana will take on ABA League newcomers Dubai, who will secure third place in the regular season regardless of the result of their final game against Budućnost. The two teams met twice during the regular season: Dubai won in Ljubljana with a score of 92:84, while Cedevita Olimpija claimed a narrow 85:84 victory in Dubai.

The playoffs are expected to begin on May 9, with Dubai holding the home-court advantage in the quarterfinal series.
