The Basketball club Cedevita Olimpija is delighted to announce the signing of a professional contract with the young and promising player Mark Morano Mahmutovič until 2029. Mark, born in 2007, has proven himself in recent years as one of the most promising talents in Slovenian basketball, as evidenced by his performances in the club’s youth categories.

Mark Morano Mahmutovič began his basketball journey with Cedevita Olimpija in the youth teams, where he quickly drew attention with his outstanding performances. In the 2022/23 season, he was a key member of the U16 team that won the national championship title, shining in the final tournament in Postojna with 37 points, six rebounds, and five assists in the championship game against ECE Triglav. The previous season, also in Postojna, he helped the U15 team secure the national title, scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in the final as the young Dragons defeated Slovan A. In the 2023/24 season, Mark was also one of the key players on the U18 team that won the national championship in Postojna, contributing 11 points and five rebounds in the final game against Slovan A.

His performances in the younger age category teams earned him the opportunity to prove himself in the senior team, where he has already debuted in the 2024/25 season’s Spar Cup matches. At the same time, he is successfully playing this season for Cedevita Olimpija’s under-20 team and Cedevita Olimpija’s youth team, which competes in the 3rd SKL league. In the senior category, Morano Mahmutovič averages 19.3 points per game. In the Spar Cup, he scored six points in the semifinal match of the final tournament at Kodeljevo against ECE Triglav, while in the final against Krka, he finished with three points.
With his performances at this year’s Euroleague tournament for players under 18 in Munich, he was selected to the tournament’s All-Star Five, averaging 21.0 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. He also gained international experience by playing in the ABA Youth League for under-19 teams. This season, at the tournament in Laktaši, he averaged 19.3 points, 4.0 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game.
