Cedevita Olimpija grab important home win over Mornar-Barsko zlato

In the opening game of the Saturday’s AdmiralBet ABA League schedule, Cedevita Olimpija have outgunned Mornar-Barsko zlato at home in Stožice Arena in Ljubljana. It is an extremely important win for the Dragons of Ljubljana, that have moved back up to the fourth place again with a 15:9 record after this triumph, as they have moved in front of Zadar.

Until the end of the Regular Season the Dragons will face Krka and Cibona on the road and the next game is coming up for them next Saturday, when they will face Krka on the road in Leon Štukelj Sports Hall in Novo mesto.

GAME REPORT:

It has been a pretty tied game in the first half, which the Dragons have won by a single point, but the hosts have gone off to dominate the court in the second half. They won the crucial third quarter by 15 points and entered the final period with a 16-point advantage. As it turned out later in the game, Mornar-Barsko zlato did not manage to fight back again all until the end of the game and this was the key period of the game.

For Cedevita Olimpija, Alen Omić led the way in scoring with 20 points on his record, Jaka Blažič had 19, DJ Stewart 17, Justin Cobbs 15 and Zoran Dragić 11.
