Cedevita Olimpija and David Škara have extended their partnership. The 31-year-old Croatian power forward has signed an extension that will keep him in a Dragons jersey until the end of the 2028/29 season.
David Škara joined Cedevita Olimpija in the summer of 2025, arriving in Ljubljana from Split. In his first season at Stožice, he won all three domestic trophies with the Dragons – the Super Cup, the Cup and the national championship – and helped the team reach the quarterfinals of both the BKT EuroCup and the AdmiralBet ABA League. He also delivered one of the defining moments of the domestic season: in Game 1 of the Slovenian league finals in Novo mesto, he hit a buzzer-beater at the end of the second overtime to give the Dragons a 90-89 win over Krka.
In the 2026/27 season, he has played in all four AdmiralBet ABA League games, averaging 5.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in 19.3 minutes per game. In the EuroCup, he averages 7.8 points and 4.8 rebounds in just under 22 minutes on the court. Last season, he averaged 8.6 points and 4.2 rebounds in 20 BKT EuroCup games, and 8.9 points and 4.0 rebounds in 26 AdmiralBet ABA League games. A versatile player who can play both power forward and center, he also represents the Croatian senior national team in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 qualifiers.
“I’m grateful to the club for their trust and for the opportunity to continue in Ljubljana. I’ve felt at home here from day one, and for that I have to thank my teammates, the coaching staff, everyone at the club and the fans. I’m pleased to remain part of Cedevita Olimpija, but at the same time I know there’s still a lot of work ahead of us,” said David Škara after signing his new contract.
“David quickly fit into our system with his work ethic and his attitude towards the team, which is why we wanted him to remain part of Cedevita Olimpija in the future. We are pleased that he will continue with us,” added Sports Director Chechu Mulero.
Born on February 26, 1995, David Škara began his basketball career in Zadar’s youth teams before playing college basketball in the United States for Valparaiso and Clemson. He continued his professional career in Spain and France, playing for Huesca, Denain, Nancy and Châlons-Reims, and also got a taste of the French top flight with Le Portel in the 2021/22 season. Before moving to Ljubljana, he played for Split in the 2024/25 season.
