A tough match in Bursa is ahead of the Dragons on Wednesday

Cedevita Olimpija is back in action in the 7DAYS EuroCup. The Dragons travelled to Bursa in Turkey, as they will face Frutti Extra Bursaspor on Wednesday at 18.00 Slovenian time in Round 10 of the regular season.

Familiar foes meet again when Frutti Extra Bursaspor (5-4) hosts Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana (2-7) on Wednesday. These two Group A sides not only clashed to open this season, but also met in the EuroCup Quarterfinals last season. Both games were in Ljubljana and both times Bursaspor held onto victory. In a rivalry that only started in 2020, Bursaspor and Cedevita Olimpija have already played six games, each winning three, including Cedevita Olimpija prevailing twice in Bursa.

“A very difficult match awaits us. Bursaspor plays great in front of home fans and full stands on their home floor. Our opponents play extremely aggressively, so we must not allow too many turnovers, because in this case the home crowd rises, and the Bursa players quickly win the difference. We are preparing for our rivals and we will do everything to respond aggressively to their play and to surprise our opponents and try to return to Ljubljana with another victory.”

“We have a very difficult away game ahead of us. We are going to Turkey with only one goal, to register another victory. We are behind our opponents in the group, so we need wins in the second half of the regular season. We are aware that there is a rivalry between the two teams that was born last season, so we expect loud support from the home fans in Bursa. Both teams have their qualities, so it will definitely be a good match. We are in good shape, the atmosphere and chemistry within our team is also very good. Although we will not be favorites on Wednesday, we can certainly surprise our rivals.”
