Cedevita Olimpija senior squad has prevailed over ECE Triglav of Kranj in the Spar Cup Semifinal with the final score of 83:63 and secured itself a spot in the Final of the Final Four Tournament, that is taking place in Kodeljevo Sports Hall on Thursday and Friday.
For the fourth time in a row and fifth time over the past six seasons, we will be able to watch Cedevita Olimpija in the Spar Cup Final. Cedevita Olimpija has prevailed over ECE Triglav Kranj on Thursday in the first Semifinal game of the Spar Cup Final Four Tournament with the final score of 83:63.
The opponents in the Final are now yet revealed, as Krka and Šentjur still have to fight for the remaining spot in the Final on 20.30. In case Krka qualifies for the Final, this will be the seventh mutual encounter in the Spar Cup Finals, while Šentjur is chasing is second appearance in the Spar Cup Finals, and the first after the season 2020/21. The Ljubljana side will be chasing its 24th cup trophy in the history of Slovenia and fourth in a row.
MATCH REPORT:
After a fairly tied opening quarter, that the Ljubljana squad has won with 2 points of margin (16:18), the squad, led from the bench by head coach Zvezdan Mitrović, has pulled away quickly in the second quarter, in which the have created themselves a double-digit lead and departed to the big break with the 7-point lead (37:44). With a 10:2 run at the start of the second half, the Kranj squad even made a slight comeback, as they took the lead, but a swift response followed by the Dragons that were ahead by 7 again (47:54) with 3 minutes to go in the third. In the remainder of the game, they managed to calmly cruise towards the win in the end with the final score of 83:63.
For the reigning Slovenian national and cup champions, Brynton Lemar led the way in scoring with 14 points on his record, while Bine Prepelič and Gregor Glas added 11 points apiece.
