In the Final of the 2023/24 Spar Cup, Cedevita Olimpija prevailed over Krka of Novo mesto and earned itself the 23rd national cup trophy in the history of the competition since the independence of Slovenia.
Cedevita Olimpija squad celebrates its second trophy of the season. After winning the Slovenian Super Cup at the very opening of the season, the Dragons have now claimed the Spar Cup trophy as well, meaning they now only need to grab the Nova KBM League title to complete a domestic triple crown for the 2023/24 season.
In the game, where the squad, led from the bench by head coach Zoran Martić, has been chasing the Novo mesto side for the majority of the playing time, but turned things upside-down in the final quarter, the final score was 87:86 in favour of the now back-to-back-to-back Slovenian Cup Winners.
This is the 23rd Slovenian National Cup trophy for Cedevita Olimpija since the Slovenian independence and third in a row.
On the way towards the Final, the Dragons have edged out Kansai Helios of Domžale.
A 2 weeks long break now awaits the Ljubljana side before the remainder of the AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season, which will resume in the beginning of March, following the FIBA national team windows.
