Cedevita Olimpija is maintaining its winning form even after the competition break brought on by national team activities – on Thursday, the Ljubljana Dragons defeated Śląsk Wrocław in the ninth round of the BKT EuroCup regular season at the Stožice Arena with a score of 108:74, recording their seventh consecutive victory.
In the spirit of Magic December, which on Thursday in Stožice was brightened by the traditional Teddy Bear Toss – the throwing of plush toys onto the court – Cedevita Olimpija stepped onto their home court to open the final month of the 2025 calendar year. In the ninth round of the BKT EuroCup regular season, the Ljubljana Dragons beat Śląsk Wrocław with a score of 108:74, extending their winning streak to seven. After November, which the squad of head coach Zvezdan Mitrović concluded with six wins in six games, the Slovenian champions entered the new month highly motivated. December brings eight more games across three different competitions.
During halftime, the court was once again – for the fourth time in a row – flooded with plush toys of all kinds, shapes, and colors. All collected toys will once again be donated by the Ljubljana club to children who need them most in these times, in an effort to brighten their holiday season.
Already on Sunday, a new challenge awaits the Dragons – Perspektiva Ilirija is coming to Stožice for the Ljubljana showdown in the regional league. Tickets for the game are already available at half price on vstopnice.olimpija.com.
GAME REPORT:
It has been a game, where the Dragons have made the crucial difference already in the opening half. They have been up by 5 points (24:19) after the first half and by 19 at the big break (61:42). In the remainder of the game they managed to cruise towards the win in the end.
For Cedevita Olimpija, Umoja Gibson had 19 points and Aleksej Nikolić scored 17.
