The senior team of Cedevita Olimpija is returning to Ljubljana from Spain with a defeat against Manresa, who in Round 10 of the BKT EuroCup regular season proved better than the Slovenian champions by a score of 99:82.
The winning streak has come to an end. After eight consecutive victories, Cedevita Olimpija were stopped on Wednesday in Spain in Round 10 of the BKT EuroCup regular season by BAXI Manresa, who defeated the team led by head coach Zvezdan Mitrović by a score of 99:82. After ten games played in the regular season, the Dragons hold a record of seven wins and three losses. This equals the club’s best-ever record in competitions under the umbrella of Euroleague Basketball, achieved in the 2000/01 season.
The Ljubljana team will be back on the European court on Tuesday, when Hapoel Jerusalem comes to Stožice Arena. The Dragons defeated Hapoel in the second round of the competition, while the Israeli team now comes to Ljubljana as the leader of Group B, having beaten Hamburg at home in this round. GAME REPORT:
The home team entered the game more focused and took a double-digit lead as early as the eighth minute (19:9). Manresa’s dominance continued in the second and third quarters, and by the 23rd minute they were up by 18 points. Even though the Dragons fought as hard as they could, they were unable to turn the game in their favor this time, and the home side celebrated the victory.
David Škara has been the most efficient in scoring for Cedevita Olimpija with 16 points on his record. Umoja Gibson added 15 points.
