The senior team of Cedevita Olimpija defeated Perspektiva Ilirija 83:69 on Sunday in the ninth round of the first stage of the AdmiralBet ABA League, notching their eighth consecutive victory across all competitions and their sixth straight in the regional league, which lifted them to the top of Group B.
Cedevita Olimpija recorded their second consecutive win in December; together with six from November, the Dragons are now on an eight-game winning streak. In Sunday’s ninth-round matchup of the first stage of the AdmiralBet ABA League in Stožice, they beat Perspektiva Ilirija 83:69. With Sunday’s victory, Cedevita Olimpija climbed to the top of Group B with seven wins and only one loss after eight games in the first stage of the competition.
The game in the Stožice arena also had a historic note: with seven points scored, Jaka Blažič reached the milestone of 5,000 points in the jersey of the Ljubljana club.
The senior squad will travel to Spain on Tuesday afternoon, specifically to Manresa, where the Dragons face BAXI Manresa on Wednesday at 20:45 in the tenth round of the EuroCup regular season. The game against the Spanish team will also mark the start of the second half of the regular season — the Dragons finished the first half with seven wins and two losses at the top of Group A.
The Ljubljana team returns to their home court on Saturday, though this time they will not play in Stožice but in the legendary Tivoli Hall, where Bosnia BH Telecom will be the visiting team. Tickets for the game in the Temple of Slovenian Basketball are already available at half price at vstopnice.olimpija.com. This will be the first of two consecutive home games — on Tuesday, December 16 at 18:30, Hapoel Jerusalem comes to the Stožice Arena.
