A true basketball spectacle awaits us once again at Arena Stožice on Wednesday at 18:30, as the Cedevita Olimpija team will host Coseo JL Bourg-en-Bresse in the seventh round of the regular BKT EuroCup season in Ljubljana, aiming for their fifth win of the season in the European competition. Tickets for the game, which will also feature activities dedicated to students, are still available at vstopnice.olimpija.com.
Less than 48 hours after facing Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet in Belgrade, Cedevita Olimpija’s team will hit the court again, this time at Stožice, in the seventh round of the regular BKT EuroCup season against the French club Coseo JL Bourg-en-Bresse. Both teams, set to play on Wednesday at 18:30, have recorded four wins and two losses after six games and will look to get back on track following last week’s defeats—Zmaji (the Dragons) lost to Hapoel at Stožice, while JL Bourg fell to Aris on their home court, after also losing to Lietkabelis in the prior round.
In Group B, Valencia leads with five wins, while three teams—Cedevita Olimpija, JL Bourg, and Hapoel Jerusalem—are tied for second place with four wins and two losses. Cluj and Turk Telekom closely follow with three wins and three losses each.
Cedevita Olimpija played in Belgrade on Monday without their head coach, Zvezdan Mitrović. A decision on whether he will lead Wednesday’s game will be made on game day. Brynton Lemar has a check-up scheduled for Wednesday morning, after which the club’s medical team will decide when he can return to team training.

PRE-GAME STATEMENTS:
“JL Bourg is a very disciplined team, both in offense and defense. As last season’s finalist, we need to prepare well for Wednesday’s game. Both teams have four wins and two losses, making it a round-defining match, so we will need the fans’ support to achieve the success we desire. Bourg plays with great energy on both sides of the court, showcasing excellent transition play and aggressive defense, both hallmarks of their game. We must be mindful of their post-up plays and their automated moves in pick-and-roll post-ups,” said Cedevita Olimpija coach Đorđe Adžić.
“We’re playing quite well in the EuroCup at a high level. Every game is fun because we’re competing against top teams from different countries. So far, we’re doing well, and we want to keep winning to secure a strong position for the rest of the season,” said Devin Robinson. “We’re ready for a fight. We lost our last EuroCup game and want to get back on the winning track, so we’ll give our all and aim to play at a high level. JL Bourg is a tough opponent; both teams have the same win-loss record. I’m looking forward to the game and hope our fans will join us in the arena.”
GAME PREVIEW:
JL Bourg, last season’s EuroCup finalist, began the 2024/25 season strong, winning their first four games against Hamburg, Cluj, Umano Reyer, and Turk Telekom. However, they’ve lost their last two matches, first to Lietkabelis and then to Aris in round six. The French team will be highly motivated to secure a win on the Stožice court on Wednesday.
The leading scorer for the French team this EuroCup season is Xavier Castaneda, who averages 14.0 points and 3.7 assists per game, followed by Adrian Nelson with 10.8 points and 5.3 rebounds.
In the French domestic league, JL Bourg currently sits mid-table with a 4-3 record after seven games. While they had an excellent start with only one loss in their first eight games, they’ve lost four of their last five games, only managing to defeat Gravelines in the French league. They also lost their last domestic league game, falling 96-89 at home to Strasbourg, with Castaneda leading the team with 19 points.
Cedevita Olimpija, entering the game against the French with three consecutive losses—two in the regional league and one in the EuroCup—played their last game in Belgrade against Crvena Zvezda, who took control toward the end of the first quarter. Despite a late push by the Dragons, Crvena Zvezda ultimately secured a 92-86 win. The top scorer for Cedevita Olimpija was DJ Stewart with 21 points, followed by Devin Robinson with 18, Aleksej Nikolić with 12, and Martinas Geben with 11.
Cedevita Olimpija and JL Bourg have met six times in the EuroCup, with Cedevita Olimpija holding a 4-2 lead in head-to-head games. Their most recent meeting was in the 2022/23 regular season when the teams split victories.
