The basketball players of Cedevita Olimpija have secured a place among the top eight teams of the AdmiralBet ABA League. With their results, the Ljubljana Dragons claimed one of the four spots in Group B that lead to the top eight teams of the regional competition. In Group A, Dubai, Partizan, and Cluj have already secured their places among the top eight teams.

By securing the spot among the top eight teams after the first part of the season, Cedevita Olimpija confirmed its consistency and competitiveness in a demanding league format, where every game carries great importance. Although the Dragons will take the court in Round 15 of the first part of the season on Saturday at 8:00 PM, when they host Podgorica’s Budućnost VOLI at Stožice, their advancement among the top eight teams in the league was secured by Spartak Subotica’s loss in Vienna against Vienna.

The second part of the ABA League brings new challenges, as the teams will face the teams from the other group that also advanced to the top eight after the first part of the season twice each, once at home and once away. The top six teams will advance directly to the playoffs, while the teams placed seventh and eighth will compete in qualification games for the remaining playoff spots against the first- and second-placed teams from the so-called “Play-Out,” which will feature the remaining ten teams.

From Group A, the teams of Dubai, Partizan, and Cluj have already secured their places among the top eight teams after the first part of the season. Cluj, which competes in the EuroCup, will arrive at Hala Tivoli on Tuesday. Tickets for the EuroCup spectacle, which is returning to the Temple of Slovenian basketball after almost ten years, are available at vstopnice.olimpija.com.

Until the end of the first part of the season, Cedevita Olimpija faces three more challenges. The first follows on Saturday, when the Dragons host Budućnost at Stožice; tickets for the game are still available at vstopnice.olimpija.com. Two consecutive away games will follow—next Friday against Zadar, and the Dragons will play their final game of the first part of the season against Perspektiva Ilirija.
