STATEMENTS BEFORE THE GAME:
“Cluj is a very serious team, as confirmed by their performances in both competitions. Before the game, our opponents are in the role of favorites. This is a team that averages as many as 97 points in the EuroCup, which says a lot. Therefore, our defense will have to be at a very high level. We definitely have demanding work ahead of us, as they have excellent and fast players on the perimeter, and their transition game is one of their main weapons. That means a lot of running, defense, and fighting for rebounds awaits us. We will see how prepared we are for all these tasks on Wednesday,” said the Dragons’ head coach, Zvezdan Mitrović, before the matchup in Romania.
“We expect a very intense game. We are aware that Cluj has exceptional perimeter players, and at the same time, very high-quality players under the basket. We must prepare well and control the tempo of the game. An interesting duel certainly awaits us, and we will be prepared for the challenge,” said the Dragons’ point guard, Umoja Gibson, before the game against Cluj.
