The Euroleague Executive Committee met in Barcelona, Spain on Friday and confirmed the composition of the two best European basketball competitions in the 2021/22 season. Cedevita Olimpija is also among the 20 teams that will compete in the 7DAYS EuroCup next season!
For the third season in a row, we will be able to watch the 7DAYS EuroCup in Ljubljana. The second most elite European basketball competition in the 2021/22 competition season will consist of 20 teams, including Cedevita Olimpija.
The remaining teams are Boulogne Metropolitans 92, Buducnost VOLI, Dolomiti Energia Trento, Frutti Extra Bursaspor, Hambur Towers, Herbalife Gran Canaria, JL Bourg en Bresse, Joventut Badalona, Lietkabelis Panevezys, Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar, MoraBancras Patran Ulm, Slask Wroclaw, Turk Telekom, Umana Reyer, Valencia Basket and Virtus Segafredo Bologna.
In the 2020/21 competition season, Cedevita Olimpija concluded the 7DAYS EuroCup competition in the second part. In 16 matches, the Dragons recorded ten victories and were in the game for a breakthrough into the quarterfinals of the European Cup until the last round. The Ljubljana basketball players made sure that for the first time in history, Slovenian basketball fans were able to follow the fights of the best 16 teams in the competition in Stožice.
The decisions taken by the Executive Board on Friday will also be discussed by ECA shareholders at a meeting on Thursday, 8 July.
